Accumulation

Accumulation – an international performance project by Co.ERASGA Dance in  collaboration with participating artists:

Canadian choreographer and dancer Alvin Erasga Tolentino, French composer-musician Emmanuel Mailly and sculptor/visual artist Marc Gerenton.

The performance project aims to fuse the hybridity of three disciplines towards  performance perspective and experience. Body, dance, movements, sound, sculpture and visual objects in the making and experiencing the work for virtual, stage and unconventional spaces.

Accumulation  responds to and challenges the interest in man-made materials and natural objects from the surroundings and natural environment. Reflecting an inspiration from Japanese philosophy Wabi-Sabi- the imperfection, impermanence and the appreciation of the ingenious integrity of natural objects and processes as an instigator to channel the artists creativities.

The association, gathering and recycling of objects and material remnants of the past and nature’s bounty are inspirations and building potent towards artistic inspiration, search and expression.

The hybrid work disciplines of Accumulation will see the three artists working for the first time and generating creative inquiries, the phases of research built into the project between Canada and France will be pivotal in building and understanding creative processes, influences , methods and finding new ways to stage and present their work.

Accumulation ( titre au Canada) ou “Plus que trop.” (En France) est une projet performatif international de la compagnie Co.Erasga avec la participation des artistes : Alvin Erasga Tolentino, danseur et chorégraphe Canadien, le compositeur et musicien Emmanuel Mailly et le plasticien Marc Gérenton ainsi que l’écrivain Denis Dormoy.

Ce projet vise à mélanger les 3 disciplines afin d’explorer les perspectives de représentation : l’élaboration du corps , de la danse, des mouvements, du son , de la sculpture , des objets visuels et l’expérimentation de scènes virtuelles et de lieux non -conventionnels.

Accumulation relève le défi d’utiliser des matériaux faits maison ou recyclés et les objets de l’environnement naturel qui nous entourent . Reflétant ainsi le Wasi-Sabi, une inspirante philosophie japonaise : L’imperfection , l’impermanence et la valorisation de l’intégrité des objets et processus naturels sont à l’origine de l’orientation créative des artistes.
Associer, rassembler et recycler des objets, des vestiges du passé et des richesses naturelles devient une source d’’inspiration puissante pour l’inspiration la recherche et l’expression artistique.

Accumulation verra les 3 artistes travailler pour la première fois et générer des protocoles soumis plus tard à divers publics mais dans un premier temps : des phases de recherche du projet construites entre le Canada et la France seront centrales dans la construction, la compréhension du processus créatif, des influences, et des méthodes et dans la découverte de nouvelles façons de mettre en scène et de présenter leur travail.
